Meet the Team

  • Dr. Arfan Hajizadeh

    Dr. Arfan was born and raised in the Kennebecasis Valley and brings a wealth of educational achievements and a dedication to excellence.

    His journey began at Rothesay High School, where he graduated in 2014. Following this, he pursued his passion for education and graduated as the valedictorian of his class at the University of New Brunswick Saint John in 2018, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.

    Dr. Arfan's pursuit of knowledge led him to Montreal, where he attended McGill University. There, he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and received prestigious accolades, including the Canadian Dental Association Student Leadership Award for his exceptional leadership, scholarship, character, and humanity. He was also honoured with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Undergraduate Dental Student award for demonstrating the utmost academic and clinical interest in Implant Dentistry.

    Dr. Arfan has been practicing and serving the greater Saint John area for the past several years. His expertise spans general dentistry, including pediatric dentistry, root canal therapy, oral surgery and prosthodontics.

  • Dr. Jeff Morrison

    Dr. Jeff Morrison was born and raised in Saint John, and received his BSc from the University of New Brunswick, followed by a DDS degree from Western University in London, Ontario. He then returned home to New Brunswick, where he started his family practice in Quispamsis. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is passionate about patient education.

    Dr. Morrison is a member of the New Brunswick Dental Society and the Canadian Dental Association, and is an evaluator for the National Dental Examining Board of Canada. He resides in Quispamsis with his wife, Dr. Diane Liscumb, and they have 3 wonderful children. In his spare time, you will find Jeff biking, hiking and running the trails in his hometown and enthusiastically skiing any bit of snow he can find.

  • Dr. Diane Liscumb

    Dr. Diane Liscumb has been passionately providing comprehensive dentistry to her patients since graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1992.

    Dr. Liscumb is a member of the New Brunswick Dental Society and the Canadian Dental Association. She also holds an associate staff position with Horizon Health, which gives her the privilege to treat patients in the hospital OR. Passionate about her patients’ well-being, her mission is to optimize their general health and improve the function, appearance and comfort of their teeth.

    Dr. Liscumb has a keen interest in bridging the gap between dentistry and oncology to ensure oncology patients do not suffer needlessly from dental pain. Dr. Liscumb has been mentored by her colleague, Dr. Deborah Saunders, who only treats oncology patients at her practice at the Sudbury Cancer Clinic. Another one of Dr. Liscumb’s interests is teaching. Each year, Dr. Liscumb teaches Forensic Dentistry to students studying Forensics at Harbourview High School.

    When Dr. Liscumb isn’t working, she enjoys skiing, trail running, biking, sewing and spending time at her cottage in PEI with her husband, Dr. Jeff Morrison. She is also a regular at ForFitness and Athletics.

  • Dr. Sydney Hetherington

    Dr. Sydney was born and raised in Fredericton and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team. Her journey began at Fredericton High School, where she graduated in 2013. Following this, she continued her undergraduate studies at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, and graduated as a Queen Elizabeth Scholar with a co-op honours degree in Medicinal Chemistry in 2018.

    Continuing her education at McGill University, Dr. Sydney earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. During her time at McGill, she received the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Dr. Norman Levine Award for her passion and dedication to pediatric dentistry and care for persons with special needs. From there, Dr. Sydney continued her studies at the University of Rochester, earning an Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate. She gained experience in complex cases, oral surgery and implant dentistry.

    Dr. Sydney has been practicing and serving the public for the last couple of years. Her expertise includes operative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery and prosthodontics.

  • Archie

    Archie is our newest team member and resident therapy puppy! While he’s still in training, Archie is already learning how to help create a calm, welcoming environment for our patients. His job is simple: offer a wagging tail, a friendly face and a little extra comfort—especially for those who might feel nervous about visiting the dentist.

    As Archie grows, he’ll continue his training to become the best possible support dog for our patients and team. If you see him around the office, feel free to say hello. He loves making new friends!

  • Yes! Pettingill Dental Clinic is currently accepting new patients. We welcome individuals and families looking for comprehensive dental care in a comfortable, supportive environment.

  • You can book an appointment by calling our office at (506) 847-2813 or by emailing our team. We’re happy to help you find a time that works best for your schedule.

  • For your first visit, please bring a list of current medications and be prepared to complete a full medical history form. This helps our dental team provide safe, personalized care tailored to your oral health needs.

  • We kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your dental appointment. Missed appointments without notice may be subject to a fee. Appointments must be confirmed in advance or may be released.

  • Absolutely. If you have a preferred dentist or dental hygienist, let us know when booking your appointment and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Yes, we accept most dental insurance plans, including the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

  • Yes, we provide direct billing to most insurance providers to help make your dental visits as simple and convenient as possible.

  • At this time, we do not offer in-house payment plans. Our team is happy to review treatment options and provide estimates in advance to help you plan accordingly.

  • We accept a variety of payment methods, including debit, credit, cash, and e-transfer.

  • Yes. For more extensive dental treatments, or upon request, we can provide a detailed estimate so you understand your options and associated costs before proceeding.

  • Yes! If you are experiencing a dental emergency in Quispamsis or the surrounding area, please contact our office right away. We prioritize urgent dental care whenever possible.

  • Our dentists are on call for existing patients during weekends to assist with urgent dental concerns.

  • Most patients benefit from a professional dental cleaning every six months. Some individuals may require more frequent visits (every 3-4 months) depending on their oral health. Our dental professionals will recommend a schedule that’s right for you.

  • Yes, we provide pediatric dentistry and family dental care for children of all ages.

  • We recommend that children visit the dentist approximately six months after their first tooth appears, or by their first birthday.

  • Yes, we offer sedation options to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during treatment. Please contact us to discuss what options may be available for you.
